Fallout 3: Better world/atmosphere New Vegas: Better story/mechanics Personally I liked FO3 better. While the writing was far better in NV, the world was much more linear and essentially dictated where to go. I love the exploration and world building that FO3 offered and was a much more enjoyable experience.
You won't be disappointed. 3 has a way more interesting world to explore while New Vegas has better characters and quests and choices. Play both. I prefer New Vegas, but if you like New Vegas you'll probably also like 3. Even then, I'd play 3 first so I could enjoy even more the improvements you'll see in New Vegas.Gameplay: fallout 4 has better gameplay as it is a more modern game than new vegas. Gunplay, controls, quality of life, and many systems added to fallout 4 make gameplay a good experience. Dialogue and character freedom: new Vegas is better in terms of character freedom and being more of an RPG than an action shooter like fallout 4.Something similar with New Vegas, but New Vegas had more variability in its final quest, and it gave you an option of how to deal with your major enemies. But Fallout 4 has post-game play with minor changes story the world based on your decisions. There is also a bunch of artstyle changes and enemy moveset changes. Some for better, some for worse.
Other than reusing elements like the GECK and water purification, Fallout 3 has very little in common with those games. The settlements depicted in Fallout 1 are much better off than what we see in Fallout 3, they're self-sustaining communities with farms, trade routes, etc.
Radio-wise, I think it's a tie. Fallout 3 has better music, but then again it also has the extremely annoying THREEEEEE DAWWWWWWG BOW WOW!!!!! instead of Mr. New Vegas. As for ambient, New Vegas wins hands-down because of the way it recycled the old tracks from the classic games. Inon Zur's compositions were more interesting too.
Fallout New Vegas is the same type of game Fallout 4 is. The only difference being that one miserably failed in the gameplay department, and the other one miserably failed in the story department. People are cutting Fallout NV a lot of slack by calling it something it's not and thus ignoring its biggest flaw.- Аփላ ξըм
