You should do a bit of research before correcting people. Also, Guild Wars 2 wasn't the reason for a lot of those layoffs. Anet tried to expand in other side projects which didn't pan out. Not mentioned specifically in that article, but again, a bit of research goes a long way.
Guild Wars 2 have a LOT of players, but they don't make that much money from the playerbase compared to other games with their business model. I'm sure arena net is dying to implement a battle pass or something similar to make more money, but every time they focus just a little bit on extra monetization, the community freaks out like the world kyIf9h2.
