Step 5. Insert your SD card into your car's SD slot and make your way to the "Engineering" section of the MMI as described above. Select the "Update" option and wait for your vehicle to read the data. It will show a list of all the folders/files. Just scroll down to the very bottom and select "Start Update". Map updates are free in the US for the C7.5. I've downloaded onto an SD card several times and updated my car. They usually have an update twice a year. Just make sure you have Java on your computer because the process to write the update is java based. I think you may need to have a valid Audi Connect subscription.

MoInEd. I recently downloaded and installed 2020/21 North America map files. For those of you interested, I have uploaded them here. It's about 11GB. To simplify download and managing files, I created a zip file of all the files directories and uploaded one single file. Once you download the zip unzip it and make sure you restore paths/directories.

Nothing about an MMI software update.. That's exactly what I'm saying. I was never asking about maps, though I very much appreciate your answer because I'd like to stay up to date on maps. The URL in my original post provided instructions on how to download and update the MMI software. Those instructions no longer work.
Posted March 12, 2022. I recently bought a full MMI update inc 2021 maps from a seller on Facebook. Came on 3 SDCards, one of which was an Activation Card. Took about an hour to run the full update and it worked perfectly. Cost - £58.

I have been wrestling with how to update the maps on my MY2018 (2017 build) Q5 since i got it Q1, 2020. The dealer and AoA have been less than helpful, only offering to do it for ~$500. Make sure the car's ignition is fully on (but engine doesn't need to running). On the MMI controls below the gearshift, you're going to push UP towards Nav/Map, then Down towards media at the same time and hold. Have to push and hold Nav/Map a half second before pushing and holding media. With SD card inserted, you can select the software VwSCGRu.
