The oil pressure switch is 3/8" BSF. The oil pressure sender is (usually) 1/8" NPT. So the T should be a 3/8 one with a 1/8 threaded hole on a side. Example 1 or Example 2 (down the page - part# 070.027 / the other one is for V8s). However, better get the oil pressure sender and gauge first and then buy the 'T' piece.

Jan 10, 2011. #8. Sounds to me like water is boiling in the system, which forces air, then water out of the cooling system. I had a dying radiator on a previous 300TDi - temperature would rise on long hills, tho' I never let it reach the red. The rad looked fine externally, but was blocked/restricted internally.

There is also an electric a plug on the Fip that is not connected, and there is no harness to it. If I accelerate gently there is no smoke. If I apply more than (say) 75 % throttle, there is black smoke. If the throttle is held steady, this smoke gradually diminishes as the vehicle speed / revs rise. The vehicle has always felt fairly spritely

A common fault with turbo charged engines is a stuck waste gate valve. This usually happens if the engine has not been run for a while. If the waste gate is stuck shut it will cause the engine to over boost, and in turn damage the engine. The waste gate actuator and rod are located behind the turbo (300 Tdi).

The 1st number on the tag (ERR 4893) is the oem (Land Rover) part number. The 2nd number (452055-4) is the Garrett part number - note the number after the dash is a revision number so later numbers replace earlier. You should have a similar tag on the compressor cover/housing of your old turbo. EPC lists the 300TDi Turbo (Garret), as ERR4802E

i have an an issue with the fuel cut off on my 300tdi. 10 days ago the engine wouldn't turn off so tested everything & then removed the solenoid and found the rubber part of the plunger had a chunk missing. Ordered new part and fitted and all was well again. Today, the same has happened to the new solenoid, a piece missing off the rubber
Smoking 300 TDI. * CAUSE FOUND * markgenesis. Only 135,000 miles on the engine, be surprised if the bores and valve guides have worn.
